Misery really does
love company.
Being a sports fan means being mostly miserable most of the time. And somehow, voluntarily signing up for more.
Misery Loves Company is dedicated to that misery: measuring it, explaining it, validating it, and making fun of it just enough to get us through the next game.
We put a score on what it actually feels like to be a sports fan: the expectations, the collapses, the injuries, and the unbearable people whose teams keep winning. We track the emotional swings from throwing breakable objects at your equally breakable TV to booking flights for a championship that is obviously imminent. Neither decision should be made with a credit card in reach.
Your team can’t win every day.
But your rival can always lose.
About the creator
Am I a diehard sports fan? Yes.
Am I on antidepressants? Also yes.
I’m not claiming those things are related. I’m not ruling it out, either.
To give you an idea of my credentials, the crowning moment for my favorite team during my five-plus decades on this planet was a parade celebrating a World Series loss.
That’s not a joke.
We had a parade. For losing.
So if you’re wondering who would build a website dedicated to sports misery, the answer is simple: someone with experience.
